Our Environmental Policy

Learning Resources Ltd has been providing educational toys and learning aids to teachers and parents for more than 25 years. Our innovative learning products and quality games ensure we are at the forefront of the market. Our commitment to quality also comes with recognition that our business has an impact upon the environment. We are committed to preventing pollution and protecting the environment wherever possible.

We commit to:

• Manufacture products of a high quality, whilst limiting their environmental impact. In particular, we will ensure all products conform to or exceed legislation on hazardous substance content.
• Identify environmental legislation and other compliance obligations applicable to our products, operations, and services, and put in place operating practices to ensure compliance.
• Observe the waste hierarchy, and ensure that any wastes that do arise and handled in accordance with legislation. 
• Ensure that when electronic and electrical products reach their ‘end-of-life’, we fund arrangements to permit their recycling and safe disposal.
• Managing the consumption of energy in our offices, and setting a target to reduce the carbon footprint of our UK operations. 
• Reduce our travel emissions where possible, through journey avoidance, remote working, and meetings to avoid excessive travel.  Encourage and support alternative travel to our place of work.
• Reduce the miles our products travel to get from manufacture to consumer, selecting energy efficient means of transport.
• Working with suppliers and contractors to reduce the environmental impact of the services they are supplying.
• Our Senior Management Team endorses this policy and commits to ensuring sufficient resources are available for its implementation.

Our Environmental Policy

We take our commitment to the environment seriously. As well as manufacturing high quality educational toys and games, we also strive to minimise the impact we have on the environment, wherever and whenever possible. 

Our product development team work hard to ensure that all of our products conform to appropriate European legislation and we have stringent process measures in place to ensure our suppliers act responsibly and ethically throughout the manufacturing process of our products. 

By calculating our carbon footprint and setting performance targets as a result of this we are committed to reducing our energy consumption and greenhouse gases. All journeys are considered and avoided where possible so as not to result in excessive travel.

If any of our electronic products need disposing of we are committed to funding any arrangements required for their safe disposal.
